Oh how I love sweet summer time and hiking up into the mountains with our couples!!! They are the best of the best!! They have never made fun of me huffing and puffing as we hike up there and a lot of the girls have gone up in shoes that are definitely not hiking shoes!! Stockton and Makenna were no different!! Makenna even hiked up two different locations for me!! This was my first summer engagement session and I was in love!!!! Here’s a little backstory to these two- a few years ago I photographed the wedding of Stockton’s brother (Boston) and Makenna’s sister (Jennica)! That’s right, their siblings are married too!! Anyways, at that wedding reception, these two were flirting like crazy!! At the time they were only in high school, but I watched as they dated during high school, they both served LDS missions and I anxiously awaited a post or some clue about the two of them dating again once they were both home from their LDS missions. When that post finally came, I did my own little happy dance for them!! I was so excited to see it all happening for them.

About a week before we took these, Stockton’s sister (another one of our past brides) set up a wicked fun Mario Kart party where we spent time with Stockton and Makenna, Will and Reagan, and Boston and Jennica!! If you didn’t know, we are avid Mario Kart players and that was the coolest party ever. Reagan knows how to throw a party! It was there that I was really able to see how these two interacted now and all the joking and laughter between them. It made me PUMPED for their engagements! When the day arrived, the weather was literally perfection, other than that slight and ever constant Idaho breeze. We had the most beautiful view of the sunset, mountains, and a whole lot of love throughout the entire thing and I am so, so excited to share my very favorites with you!! These two were playful, happy, and flirty, everything we hope for an engagement session!!
