A Waffles in Bed Weekend

Last week Logan was swamped with midterms and big projects and it seemed like the days went by without real moments to connect outside of the moments when he came home from school. The whole week was full of late, really late nights for Logan and that meant falling asleep by myself in our bed that seems massive when I’m alone. But I knew that if I let him focus throughout the week, we would be able to enjoy our weekend in SLC for a wedding so much more. So the days minutes really dragged on… Until Friday came and we were Salt Lake City bound. I’d been looking forward to this wedding for awhile. At all but one of our weddings this year, I was always busy taking pictures and didn’t have a chance to really watch Logan do his creative video stuff. From the moment that Logan first started shooting with me, he was always  the one carrying the bags and switching lenses out when I needed something different, but this weekend, I got to be his sidekick. I carried gear and got the side shots and really watched him do his thing. This wedding let us be creative together in one aspect and to look for the same types of things instead of looking for photo vs video angles. I can’t wait to share this video with you soon, it’s going to be SO good!

While I loved our time shooting and with our couple, I enjoyed the moments of being at our hotel together reading our books, eating waffles in bed, and watching our latest Netflix favorite- The Flash. Even more than that though, I loved the hours we spent in the car together driving. It is in those times that we really seem to speak the matters on our hearts. Those 6 hours in the car gave us a chance to really understand what was going on in each others’ lives and helped us see where we needed to make some changes. This weekend was exactly what we needed to get refocused on the things that matter most and help us recommit to being better for each other. Those moments were my favorite when we chose to look at each other with full intent to serve and love one another more fully in those 6 hours of sitting in the car together.

I’m looking forward to sharing the next two weekends shooting more weddings (and going to TEXAS) with Logan! Here’s a peek at what the weekend looked like-
