It was early in the morning that we drove to the Meridian LDS Temple to meet with Bill and Courtney before their sealing, hot air balloons were in the sky and the sun had just come up. The temple grounds were quiet and still and the air was already warm. We were meeting early before their sealing to have a chance to spend time with empty grounds because the temple was full of weddings that day and this way we avoided the crowds and the heat of the day! First meeting these two, it was pretty easy to see that they fit together really well. Bill and Courtney are the kind of couple that compliment each other and bring out the very best in each other. They make each other laugh easily and fully!! As I went through their photos, I stopped at one particular photo because of the way Courtney is looking at Bill. We have a photo where I am looking at Logan in that same way on our wedding day. I know that look. It’s a look with eyes full of love and so much excitement for the beginning of their marriage. It literally melted my heart when I saw it!!
We finished up in time for them to walk into the temple together, hand in hand for their sealing. As they walked back out afterward, their families greeted them with cheers and so much excitement for them! We finished up their family photos with the cutouts of Bill’s brother and switched gears to their bridal party. It’s always important to pick the right groomsmen, but even more important when you trust them to throw your new bride into the air! Bill tested it out first and once he was caught OK, we sent Courtney to be thrown too! The rest of our time with them at the temple was easy and flowed with no stress or worries. It seemed like these two were always meant for this- to be husband and wife, holding hands, and stealing kisses.
As the afternoon heat started to wear off, the reception kicked off in the best way possible with tacos! The rest of the night included friends, family, and loved ones giving toasts, eating doughnuts, dancing the night away, and JUMPING into the pool after the sparkler exit! This is how you throw a wedding reception!
