This has been a blog post I’ve been excited to share since October. These family photos are truly some of my favorite family photos I’ve ever taken and I think you’ll love them too! The night that I read the Facebook message from Jenell about some family photos in California, Logan was already fast asleep and I had no one to share my over the top excitement with. That night I might have gotten into bed a little more “rowdy” than normal hoping Logan would wake up and I could tell him all about it. He didn’t! The next day, it was all I could do to not be shouting from the rooftops about it!!
We met the Rasmussen’s when we lived in Rexburg going to college in our married student ward. They lived just a couple of apartments down from us and at the time, we didn’t have Jai and Ella was the only little girl in their family. Soon before we moved out of Rexburg, I was able to photograph their little family adding Allie to the family and then Facebook was the way we’d keep up with each other after that.
Jenell sent me some ideas of what she was hoping for and locations we could look into and I loved what she was going for. We first met them at their house and it was like no time had passed at all.
When we got to the beach, we all kicked off our shoes and a bag of marshmallows came out for the kids. Parents take note that marshmallows at the best kind of “treat” to give to little kids at pictures. The mess is so minimal and it won’t turn their tongues blue or any other crazy colors!
During this session, I felt like I really got to see a family being exactly who they were at home without a camera on them- so playful, full of love and literally radiating joy. We played in the sand and water and honestly, felt like we made memories in just the matter of an hour as the sunset across the ocean!!! Can you tell me which one is your absolute favorite of all of these because I’m not sure I can pick a favorite!
