When we first started talking about a first look session with Brett and Amy, she mentioned she really loved Jackson Hole and wanted to shoot there. What Amy didn’t know is that I’ve always wanted to photograph a bride and groom there. It was the perfect opportunity and their Jackson Hole first look session will go down as one of my favorites! We met with them and each other their parents at the Chapel of the Transfiguration with a perfect view of the Grand Tetons and had their first look there.
As Brett turned around to see Amy, his smile spread wide across his face and he gathered her up quickly into a hug as tears started to fall from her eyes. This was a moment they had both been waiting for and it was so tender and sweet to hear the excitement in Brett’s voice as he told her how beautiful she was!! What was even better was that the number of tourists that came to that stop slowed down remarkably during this time. It was like everyone knew that they needed to have this special moment together, just the two of them… and Logan and I capturing it all too!
When we switched from their first look to some more portraits, we moved over towards the views of the Grand Tetons and it was everything we could have hoped for. A big wide sweeping view of the Grand Tetons with a long cathedral veil floating in the air because of my magical veil whisperer- Logan!
After we finished up at that location, we drove to Jenny’s Lake to finish it up. Amy’s dad had this little knack of venturing off somewhere and finding some incredible spots for us to shoot at there at the lake. One of those spots was an incredible rock staircase that was so pretty!! Brett and Amy never questioned our locations and that had Logan being barefoot in the water as they walked hand in hand along the lakeshore! We finished up just as the mosquitoes were coming out and the light was dipping low behind the Tetons.
