One of our favorite things to do on a trip or while we drive it to dream together. We talk about anything and everything: hopes for this business, ideas for our future family, ways to improve ourselves, things to cook for dinner, adding things to our bucket list… We just really like to talk to each other. These talks have been where we have found ideas and dreams that have brought us to where we are, because of that, we always takes notes on our phones about what we say! You never know, one of these ideas could change the world.

One trip at the end of last year got us talking about our bucket list and we added things to do and places to see. After looking over our list, we decided that we needed to make it a priority to do something from our list this year. We wanted to make sure that we had some more adventures before the time comes for us to have some little babes. We thought we came up with our solution to which item we would be crossing off for the year and we were SO excited about it. Because we did some homework and looked into the adventure, we knew what it would cost and we started saving our pennies… literally saving pennies, but that’s a post for another day. As we laid awake at night pillow talking, we would talk about this adventure and how fun it was going to be… But then our plans for the 2015 bucket list adventure changed…

One day while I was out with my friend Stephanie, we started dreaming out loud of different places to travel too and adventures to go on. We started talking about a couples trip we could take together to cross something off our list… I didn’t think anything would really come of it because our schedule was already looking so crazy for the summer break. Until a few days later when Stephanie came over to our house and said, “Let’s really do this couples trip.” There was no way we were going to be able to make this one work, I knew it. I knew that I had to look into everything just to put the thought of it really happening out of my mind. As I started to look at flights, knowing that as soon as I saw prices, we were going to have to say no, I found numbers that made me feel like I had to be dreaming. Rubbing my eyes, I looked again, and again, and again. I hit refresh to make sure this wasn’t a joke. And suddenly it all became a possibility…

We are heading to MAUI!!

After honeymooning on a cruise to Hawaii and back, we have had it on our bucket list to get back there! Once this years wedding season is done, we are taking a whole week off of work and “real” life! Those pennies we were saving for a different adventure (we’ll have to share that adventure another day) are going to buy us a Sure Thing burger and some Hawaiian shaved ice!
