Grandma Clark’s Hot Fudge

Here’s a fun fact about me for you- I am not only the youngest child in my family, but I’m also the youngest grandchild on both sides of my family. I didn’t grow up with cousins close in age to me, the closest “kids” in age to me were my brothers and my cousins kids. My memories as a child at their home, mainly involve my family and my brothers. And one of those memories that I love to think about is all of my grandma’s yummy cooking, especially dessert. It’s no secret that we love ice cream at our house. It’s one of the basic food groups around here actually. For the past month, I’ve been craving something sweet from my Grandma Clark’s kitchen- her hot fudge sauce drizzled over her homemade sherbet. It’s one of those things that is special to me because it always brings back the memories of it from their home in Ashton now that they have moved.

While I didn’t take the time to make her ice cream this time around, yesterday I really needed to make some of that hot fudge! I’ve tried a bunch of different hot fudge sauces and nothing has ever come close to beating this one! One year for Christmas, my mom even made some of this for our friends and neighbors with some cute saying. If you haven’t done anything yet, maybe this is right for you because it’s EASY and SOOOO good! Don’t take my word for it, make some yourself!

When I asked my mom for the recipe card, I was really hoping it was in my grandma’s beautiful handwriting and my wishes came true!! It made making the sauce even better to read the ingredients and directions from her.

Easy Hot Fudge Topping • In the Kitchen with MichelleAs I sat and ate my bowl of vanilla ice cream, smothered in hot fudge, and sprinkles topping it off, I closed my eyes and I could picture those times around my grandparents table, passing the ice cream scoop around and drizzling that fudge all over the ice cream, adding a little too much just to be able to eat it by the spoonful. Then running into her kitchen with the brown floors to stop her from putting it away so fast.
