Ashton Idaho Winter Bridals | Austin and Kaytlyn
The weather really made Austin and Kaytlyn WORK for these Ashton, Idaho winter bridals. When I say it was freezing, I mean it was FREEZING! The day’s high temperature was only 14 degrees! For my winter brides – take note of how Austin and Kaytlyn handled it. Austin’s parents came and set up a tent with a portable heater in it for them to warm up in between pictures. I hadn’t ever had someone do that. It was so smart! Whenever I have winter session, I always make sure to give my couple LOTS of breaks to warm up. Here are some other tips for staying warm during winter sessions:
Bring a jacket to put on in between pictures.
Be sure to put hand warmers in her jacket pocket!
Bring boots! Even if you change into cuter shoes for the pictures, you will want to boots for trekking in and out of locations.
If your car is nearby, you can also keep your car running with the heater turned on and hop in every few minutes for a warm up.
Cold temperatures aside, there is just something about taking portraits in the winter. It’s like the sun hits different. The reflection from the snow on the ground. The dapples of light through the pine trees. The wind playing with the veil, dress, and hair. I’ll never get over it! These photos make the freezing temps worth it.
Oh, and be sure to take note of Kaytlyn’s bouquet! She made it herself. Isn’t it stunning? I have the most talented brides ever!
