We are hosting our third photography beginner’s workshop in May! As far as our plan is now, this will also be our last one for the year. If you are wanting to learn how to use your DSLR camera to take your camera off of auto and move into manual mode, this is the workshop for you!! We want to teach you what all the buttons on your camera mean and what buttons you need to worry about. We will also teach video basics if your camera has video capability. I know when I first started photography and accepting sessions, I was actually shooting in auto- yikes!! I don’t want you to make the same mistakes that I did. I want to show you how to take your images from the beginners mode to being in control and really taking the photos you want. If I didn’t know how to shoot in manual, I would not be able to control my images the way I do now.
Here are two images from my very first wedding that I shot when I was shooting in auto
And images from our last wedding-
Maybe you want that blurry, creamy background, but aren’t sure how to do it. Maybe you want to take pictures of your sweet little baby in their nursery, but can’t get the lighting quite right. To make this happen, you have to know how to shoot in manual. It doesn’t matter if you just want to know how to use to take pictures of your kids or if you are interested in becoming a photographer- this workshop will get you going for whatever purpose it is that you are hoping for. We want you to be shooting in manual mode and really be in control of your camera as you leave this workshop.
At the workshop, we will be teaching you about gear, lighting, posing, the technical stuff, editing basics, and we will even be hitting on video basics. There is lots of time for questions and really hands on learning. We know we learn best watching and being able to learn hands on with help. We will be going through everything right there with you and applying it right then and we are hoping to help you really understand your camera before you leave. Along with the in person education, you will walk away with a booklet full of the information discussed to refer back to at anytime and a Facebook group to be in contact with us and ask questions for us to answer or other attendees. You will walk away from this workshop with a new confidence and understanding of your camera and how to use it to take beautiful images.
