Last year when Logan and I planned our first styled shoot with just the two of us, it was fairly simple, came together easily, and seemed pretty good! When my friend Meghan told me she would be coming to Idaho around Christmas and would love to shoot a wintery, snowy bride look, I happily told her I would get something lined up. One thing led to another and it was becoming much bigger and more grand than I had originally planned. Because of our first shoot (which was WAY more simple and less “over the top”) went so smoothly, I wasn’t worried about pulling this one together. And then December got the best of me with the holidays and Logan’s finals, I only had a few things done before Christmas.
It was a scramble after Christmas, a mess really. I was feeling the pressure and knew that I wanted to make it really beautiful!! I spent almost every day driving down to Idaho Falls to meet with different vendors and get the small things pulled together. I went from store to store to store finding the right pieces and then laying everything out at night and seeing how it all looked together. Each thing was adding more and more excitement for the shoot.
We had a total of 14 photographers, Logan videoing, 3 models, and a dog!! It was wild, busy, and I was exhausted afterwards, but more than that, it was perfect. I don’t mean that everything went off without a hitch, because that is not true. But in my eyes, it couldn’t have been better. We had the best time and the photographers who came were so kind and fun to be with. A lot of us stayed and all chatted together over our businesses and what we do. Overall, I am BEYOND happy with how it turned out, especially with all the circumstances and the procrastination on my part. It helped me find a lot of weaknesses in myself, but also gave me a boost to see some of my strengths pull through for the planning and preparation!
Meghan’s cousin Micki came and took all of these BTS pictures for us!! I was so excited to get all of these because I was too distracted on the day of the shoot to think about these!! Here’s a look at the BTS of the shoot! The rest of this shoot will be on the blog soon!! You can see Bailey as a bride here.
