There are so many things I could say about Brandon and Alexx’s Island Park wedding. It was truly the perfect way to end our 2017 weddings- well we could have done without getting stuck in the snow… Speaking of that, let’s start there. We were set to arrive earlier than planned and I was so excited to have a little bit to look over some locations and get prepped with Logan. Plus, being early meant we were going to have oodles of time to shoot bridal details. The cabin that we were supposed to go to first was on N Pinehaven… So I turned off my GPS knowing what road we were set to turn on and the location from there. What I didn’t realize was that there was 3 different Pinehaven roads. And we turned onto the only one that wasn’t plowed and boy was that fun… I let Alexx know that situation and she was so sweet about everything. It took us over an hour to get out- rough I’m telling you. When we got there, our timeline was a little more crunched than the oodles of time we had been planning on for details, but because I had Logan shooting with me, we were able to get through everything and not get behind on the timeline. Alexx was the kindest and sweetest bride!! I could honestly gush over her!!! I felt so sad and sorry that we had gotten stuck but she just brushed it off like it was no big deal and she had complete and full faith in us to capture what was needed. When we got to the cabin, she even said that she was sort of hoping we would have brought Jai because he’s so cute. Yep, she’s the best and that made our day. If you haven’t had a chance, make sure to check out her bridal session we did at Kelly Canyon in October!!  As we were at the cabin, it gave us a chance to get to know the bridesmaids better and it’s always a good sign when we get in the car to change locations and Logan says, “I like them. They are going to be so much fun!” And he was right!! The bridesmaids were so on top of everything and Gustie gave the best toast/speech that I have ever heard. 

After we shot all of that getting ready, details, and bridesmaids images, it was off to the groom’s cabin at Lakeside Lodge for the first look. As I walked up a little hill with Brandon, he was sliding all over because we all know that groom shoes aren’t known for their traction and on that icy hill, he was all over the place. The weather was beautiful with clear blue skies and sunshine, but during the first look, the wind was blowing snow off the trees and made it look like it was snowing. When you see the photos, check out all the snow in Brandon’s hair. With that wind chill, it was cold!!!!! But these two didn’t complain at all and agreed to take more photos after their ceremony where it wasn’t a little mini blizzard. Logan and I LOVED every minute of our portrait time with them!! It was so, so good!!! Brandon and Alexx were so happy and full of joy at being married. They have this kind of relationship where you can just tell that they are the best of friends and bring out the very best in each other. And can we just talk about her florals?! That bouquet smelled like heaven and it was so beautiful!!! It has me itching for some florals on my table… hint hint, wink, wink- I’m looking at you Logan 😉

As Brandon and Alexx entered their dinner, they went straight out onto the porch of Lakeside Lodge and shared their first dance as the sunset. The rest of the night was full of smiles from all the guests and we couldn’t be happier to have been a part of their wedding!! Congrats Brandon and Alexx!!
