One of the greatest things about this job is not only being able to be a part of people’s lives that I am just meeting, but also being a part of the lives of people who I grew up with and are so important to me!! Janie and I grew up together, have been best friends, and we both entered motherhood in the same year (just under a month apart, actually!!). Two years ago, she gave me call and let me know that she was pregnant and asked me to be there to capture the moment when she told Chase and that was such a special moment to be there for!! If you missed out on that, check out the video here. When she asked me to take pictures for her little family just after Brooks turned one, I was so excited!! We don’t get to see each other too often because of where we live and being busy but this was such a fun night!

Because I know how Jai’s attention span is and how difficult it can be to get that age group to look at the camera, we had Janie’s parents come too and Brooks loved smiling and looking at all the funny things his grandpa was doing. That night dark clouds were circling around town, but we never had anything more than a few raindrops hit us and it ended up being the perfect night for a family session!! Brooks had just learned to walk in the weeks leading up to these pictures and it was so fun chasing him around and watching him hate sitting in the grass because that’s exactly who he is right now in this stage. I also LOVED taking pictures of just Chase and Janie. I have to say, I have really pretty friends, I mean just look at Janie!!! She’s beautiful!!
