Funny story, we actually have two couples with the names Jordan and Meaghan (and Megan) this year!! So if you follow along with our blog, you might see those names a lot! Isn’t that kind too funny?! Their weddings are even within a month of each other!! What are the odds of that?! Let’s get to the first Jordan and Meaghan post for the year!
If you missed out on Logan and Abby’s wedding post, you missed out on the fact that her sister that caught the bouquet is now getting married. That sister is Meaghan!! We are SO incredibly excited to be working with this family again.
As soon as we stepped out of our cars for this session, we knew it was going to be a chilly one. It was one of the days that the wind took a 25 degree day to a day that felt like 10 degrees! Yikes!! But Jordan and Meaghan were so good about it all. We took a few breaks into the cars and that let me really hear their story and it’s just too good not to share.
It was the fall of 2015 when these two met. They met in a class that Meaghan was having a tough time with and so Jordan stepped up to help her. But no, it wasn’t an instant connection and love at first study session. They became the best of friends and it wasn’t until Meaghan said goodbye to Jordan to leave for her mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints that he realized he had serious feelings for her. (AHHH!!!!!)
He took the next step to write her a letter soon after and told her about his feelings and a few days after receiving that letter, she realized she had feelings for him too. (AHHHHH!!!!) The next tricky part to their story is that Jordan left for his mission 6 months after her, serving in Mexico. That meant that their letters took THREE MONTHS to get to each other. They wrote throughout their entire missions, each of them saving the letters. Meaghan returned home from her mission and dated around as she wrote him for another year of his mission. As Jordan tried to go through customs on his way home from his mission, the letters were confiscated and he lost all of them (AHHHH!!). That made my sappy heart want to cry a little bit.
Once Jordan made his way back to Rexburg for school, they went on their first official date because before they’d been just friends. That first date led to a first kiss and now they’re here on the blog with their engagements! Enjoy some of my favorites!
