It had been months since I had seen these two for their Arizona engagement session, but when we met up with them at the Mesa LDS temple for their first look and formal session on Thursday, it was like it had only been a short amount of time. Logan met Jose for the first time and we chatted over all the details of the day and caught up on how life was going for him while we waited for Olivia to come over behind Jose. When I first saw Olivia, my jaw dropped!! She looked STUNNING!!!!!! I could not wait for Jose to turn around and see just how beautiful his soon to be wife and bride was. Jose’s reaction was nothing short of perfect. It was complete with his big grin and excitement that replaced the nerves he had been feeling. I love first looks and formal sessions because it always makes it real. As a bride, you really finally feel like a bride and it puts everything into perspective. For these two, this formal session the evening before their wedding was the perfect way to start off their wedding weekend. It set a tone for a classy, romantic, and joyful day!! I can’t wait to show you their wedding- next week! 🙂

Olivia is also a photographer and that was such a huge compliment that she chose us to be her wedding photographer. She was incredible to work with as she and Jose found locations for us to choose between and they were so willing to do anything we asked… even hike up the side of a REALLY steep hill in high heels just to get to the cactus with the view. And one last thing can we just talk about how perfect that bouquet is?! I don’t know if I will ever get over that bouquet… ever!! It was just too good!! Olivia’s taste for classic and timeless was a big hit with us and left me wishing to photograph her and Jose every weekend!!

Going from the fading winter of Idaho (that really just looks brown, dead and gross) to the green, sunshine, and cactus of Arizona came at a perfect time. I felt so inspired and excited about everything in their photos!! While these two are off honeymooning, enjoy my favorites from their formal session!
