I would love to say that I met Shayla in some fun and normal way, but I really met her like a total creep! While I was taking pictures for The Jean Girl, the model called in sick. I didn’t know who to ask and was drawing up blank with everyone I did try. I decided to head to the grocery store and see if anyone stood out to me… there in the cheese section of Broulims, I saw Shayla. I told you, I seemed like a creep. The good thing was that I kind of already knew her through mutual friends and playing basketball against each other in high school- that helps me feel less like a creep. She agreed to let me take pictures of her that day and during our shoot she started telling me about this boy that was with her at the store.
He was about to graduate and she wasn’t sure she really was ready to commit with everything going on. At their session, I found out that Nate was ready to try being serious with her before he graduated, but he just had to convince her to try too. They started as friends, but it has turned into so much more. They have been figuring out the long distance, only see each other on the weekends relationship for the past little while, but the way they laugh together and joke all the time makes it obvious that these two have something special. Shayla and Nate have the kind of love that has made them the best of friends. I can’t wait for these two to become husband and wife and get to spend so much more of their time together and I think they are excited about that too!!
Here’s a few of my favorites from their engagement session!
