Jaden and Alyssa’s story is one for the books and I have to recap my favorite parts of it for you to get to know them too! It’s just too good! One thing that Alyssa has always had a thing for is cowboys and Jaden is just that! For their engagement session, we went for a more rustic country feel and it turned out perfect!

When the semester first started up in Rexburg, Alyssa’s friend told her she needed to come meet his roommate because he was a cowboy. They went on a couple of dates but when she had to stay in Utah for a family event, Jaden thought she was trying to make up excuses to not go on a date with him that night. On Sunday morning, Alyssa had gotten up early to make the drive to Rexburg to be there when Jaden spoke in church. Just as she was pulling into Rexburg, he calls and says that he doesn’t think it’s a good idea for her to come anymore. My heart died a little when they told me that part. The VERY next day, a group of people were getting together to go sledding and Jaden saw Alyssa there and she had brought her roommate and another guy friend. As soon as Jaden saw her, he knew he’d made a mistake and just a few days later, he asked her out on another date. From then on, that’s what it was, the two of them together!

As this last semester was coming to a close, they were spending all the time they could together in between classes, finals, and packing up for the semester. Jaden was going to be leaving for the summer and we had a small window to get these done. The day we had scheduled for ended up being one of those days in southeast Idaho where the wind blows at 40 mph and so we crossed our fingers and rescheduled for the next day. The next day was beautiful other than the random snow that started to fall (while it was still sunny). Can you spot the photos where it was snowing?

I had the best time getting to know them and their relationship. Something that Jaden said during our time together was that his dad would always kiss his mom or hit her bum when they were kids and back then it was always “gross.” But now he sees that that is exactly what he wants for him and Alyssa. Yep, my heart melted into a puddle. That’s what we want for all of our couples!! They always play a game of what are the odds when they are out and about and it has led to some hilarious experiences for them-  like the time she had to keep her hand on his butt for the entire escalator ride with her dad RIGHT behind them because she lost that one. I hope they always play that game, even long after they’ve become husband and wife!
