Ryan and Sydal are some of the people that I have always looked up too and admired!! It started when they moved into my parents neighborhood when I was younger, and I was able to babysit their kids. I loved playing with their kids and became close to the family. As the years have gone on, I have looked up to these two more and more as an incredible example of what I wanted my own marriage to look like. These are two very happy people who make each other even happier. On Sundays, they never let their kids sit between them, except on those especially tough Sundays, but other than those rare and few days, these two always sit right next to each other. The whisper and giggle through church and are holding hands or have an arm around each other. I can’t even make this stuff up!! I always loved sitting behind them at church just to watch the dynamics of their relationship. I’ve taken the Wattenbarger’s family pictures every year for a quite a few years, and I’ve always loved my time with them! This year, we made sure to take some time to just get pictures of Ryan and Sydal. They spent most of the time just laughing, but I loved every single photo we took of them!!
Ryan and Sydal were high school sweethearts and I love hearing stories about when they were young and dating, because they still look so young and in wildly in love. After 19 years of marriage, 3 kids, and a whole lot of memories, these two have a marriage that gives so many people something to look to as an example and something to aspire to have! Because these two live in my parents neighborhood, that gives me the chance to go over and catch up with them and stay updated with their lives. One of the last times I went to their house, Sydal was telling me about how Ryan is absolutely her best friend. When something good happens, she wants to tell Ryan very first. When something hard is happening, she knows she wants to tell Ryan first. That has been their “secret ingredient,” staying the very best of friends.
