We are so happy to be able to share this bridal session today because it was SO BEAUTIFUL and these two are newlyweds as of yesterday!! What better way to kick off their marriage than to show off their bridal session in the mountains! When we met with Kirstie and Zach to chat over wedding details and get to know each other better, they shared their vision, ideas, and hopes for their pictures and video. As Logan and I walked away from that meeting, we knew it was going to be a perfect fit working with them. We had talked over bridal session locations and had gone over a few different options, but we ultimately decided on Kelly Canyon and it could not have been better.

Zach and Kirstie’s bridal session was one that we will always remember for so many reasons- it was the first session we used our drone at, Kirstie hiked up a mountain in her wedding dress, there were cows grazing everywhere, the locations and lighting could not have been better and there was a bear. Did you catch the last part of that? There was a bear… while we were on the top of mountain that Kirstie had just hiked up in her dress… Yikes. Before I tell you all about the bear, let me tell you a few more reasons why their session was just perfect. When Zach and Kirstie shared their first look, Zach’s reaction was priceless; his genuine excitement, love and happiness to be marrying that bride standing in front of him was obvious and it made our job too easy. They laughed and complimented each other as they held onto each other for a few minutes as they relished in that moment together. After we moved locations, we realized there were cows everywhere grazing and walking around. As we found a spot with perfect light, we also became surrounded by cows it seemed, as they came down from the mountain and around the trees. They all just wanted a front row seat at these two because it was just too good to miss! From there we hiked up the mountain, where we found more cows and the perfect views. When we finished up the shots with the big view, we headed down a little path to find the aspen trees and it was on that path that we stopped for a few pictures when I heard the first growl. I turned to Logan and quietly asked if that was a cow, like any good husband he nodded and said yes with the smile on his face that meant he was lying. I snapped a couple other pictures and then we all heard that same growl again. We grabbed our bags, pulled Kirstie’s dress up and walked as quickly as we could away from that area; as we walked away, we heard a cow scream like it had just been attacked. From what Logan thinks, the bear was around 50 ish feet away from us, just up the hill in all the trees and no, I did not look hard or long enough to find the bear to take a picture!! YIKES! We were able to grab a few more pictures to wrap up the session once we got far enough away from that spot before trying to get back down to our cars. We took the long way around to avoid the bear spot and we almost spent way too long getting lost and walking along the wrong path. If that isn’t a bridal session for the books, I don’t know what is, but just wait until you see these pictures and you will know even more so why this was one we will never forget. Zach and Kirstie’s bridal session turned out perfect!
