A couple of weeks ago, I headed out of town for a Boise engagement session with Asher and Grace and Boise welcomed me with warm weather and blossom trees!! I had such a great time getting to know these two and I can’t wait for you to read about what happened at their proposal!
Grace and Asher literally grew up minutes from each other. They were around each other and their families their entire lives, but the timing wasn’t right because there was a few years in between them. Fast forward to this last summer when Asher knew he wanted to date Grace but she wasn’t sure. But once fall semester came around for them at BYU-Idaho, she was all in and it all came together so easily for them.
Here’s where the gets really good and when Asher and Grace had me laughing about their story. Grace was convinced Asher wouldn’t be proposing until spring because of the way people had been talking, but he’d been planning it out for the perfect Christmas season date back home in Boise. They had been on a full day date and it was finishing up at the Caldwell lights. Asher took her onto a bridge when Grace spots “marry me” balloons and she was sure they were interrupting and ruining someone else’s proposal. She told Asher they needed to go because she didn’t realize it was all for her. Grace will totally deny it with the biggest smile on her face, but Asher will tell that story like that forever!
We bonded over our love for Spikeball and ice cream and I’m pretty sure I have convinced them to come to Spud Day this year in Shelley! It was definitely the thought of a tug of war over mashed potatoes that really sold them on it. I could have taken pictures of Grace and Asher all day and I could have shared them all, but I’ll just leave you with some of my favorites!
