This post has to start a little while ago — back in January 2021, to be exact. We had been moved into our new house less than a month when I looked out the back door and saw the person I assumed was building the house directly behind ours. I told Logan I was going to go meet them, so I threw on my snow boots and ran through the backyard to introduce myself while they were still outside. It’s fine, I’m a little crazy, I know. I quickly learned that her name was Lisa, she grew up in the Idaho Falls area and so did her husband. She asked where I was from and when I told her Shelley, she said that her husband’s grandparents were from there. I asked for their name and wouldn’t you know, I knew exactly who she was talking about! They lived close to my parents. I could hardly believe it! Her husband was even one of my friends when we were little — I have the pictures to prove it!

Turns out, they have girls close in age to Jai and one the exact same age as Jordy (days apart). Once they moved in, we became fast friends and I’m forever grateful for that. Our kids are more like cousins (but sometimes Jai says he’s going to marry one of them).

After their session, I just knew I was going to love WAY too many of these images. I loved their soft color palette, the way the older two girls loved on B. We had such a fun playful session. It’s extra special to not only see these photos on my camera and computer, but to also come into Lisa’s home and see them printed and hung on the walls of their home!
