THE JOURNAL

Computer On, Glasses On

With Logan being back in school and wedding season in full swing, we have both been spending a lot of time staring at our computer screens, especially at night- we are trying really hard to break our habit of staying up late to get things done, but that is definitely a work in progress. While we have been staring at the computer screen for hours on end, we have noticed a few different things happening to our bodies that were not the best. In the past month, Logan has had so many headaches after working at his computer on homework and videos while my eyes have been feeling really strained after working for a couple hours. Because we do work a lot at night, I noticed a significant amount of strain and headaches happening at night when that blue tint from the screen seems to be the worst. I wasn’t sure if it was an accumulation of all the computer staring all day or mainly at night, but it was happening too often. We know we will be using our computers a lot and something needed to change.

Last year, I started looking into computer glasses, but I couldn’t justify spending $60-$100 on glasses that I wasn’t even sure were going to help me with the headaches I had been getting and so I stopped looking. At the beginning of the month, I found these glasses on Amazon!! They were perfect for my budget and I was willing to try anything to help Logan and I feel better after working at our computers. The glasses have a yellow tint to them to help prevent strain and reduce the harmful effects of the blue tint from the computer screen. They come in a nice case with a cloth to remove fingerprints and spots. Over the past few weeks, I’ve worn them every single day for everything I do at the computer EXCEPT for editing, heck I’m wearing them right now to type this up!! We don’t wear them for editing because of the tint change, but for blogging, emails, culling, social media, Logan’s homework, and even putting videos together before color correcting, they are always on. We have both noticed a difference our eyes and how we feel after working at the computer and we wanted to share them with you in case you are starting at a computer screen all day and having any negative side effects!! And I like them so much, I would probably wear them everywhere if they weren’t yellow tinted- that’s a little weird, I know.

Here’s the link to the glasses again- computer glasses!!
