When you are getting married in the southeast Idaho area in the late spring and early summer, it means your engagements are going to be a little tricky!! Early spring engagements in this area are tough because you have to base everything off the weather, there’s not a lot of color happening anywhere, and it is still chilly!! But Jake and Katelyn’s spring engagement session was perfect because we utilized different locations to give us a lot of different looks and giving us the most color possible!! The wind was sure whipping around by the end, but it turned out beautifully!
A really great option for engagement sessions at this time of the year is looking into the local greenhouses. Here’s the deal though, you ALWAYS need to ask for permission before shooting. I have shot at a couple different local greenhouses and they have always been kind but have asked for us to avoid certain things or shoot a particular way. The greenhouse is warmer and that’s a huge bonus for this time of the year. It also provides life and something colorful to add to your photos! I loved the color combination that Jake and Katelyn’s outfits had while we shot there!
We also found an awesome building with great design features to shoot with as well!! Shooting with the building also gave us a chance to hide from the wind as best as possible. Our last spot left us open to the elements and the wind picked up pretty good by the end, but we finished up with some playful pictures and just let the wind do it’s thing!
