I have already shared the behind the scenes look at the Michelle & Meghan Retreat and today you get to see the pretty shoot we had all set up for everyone to photograph. I have hosted and been to multiple styled shoots, but there was something special about this one. It was truly amazing and might have just stolen my heart and become my favorite styled shoot. I think I feel strongly about this shoot because I felt like I grew as a photographer at it. Yes, the images are lovely and I can’t get enough of them, but the real kicker is that I tried new poses and angles that I’ve never done. I found the things that truly inspired me as a creative as I culled and edited all of these images. The images that moved me and have led me to feel creative, inspired and so in love with this session are in this post! Can you pick out which ones are my favorites? What images do you love from this shoot?!
Maybe another reason I love this shoot so much, is the fact that it called for 100% chance of rain from 2pm on. We knew that it was going to rain… we just knew it. Taylor and Adam were not going to be able to make it until 2:45pm and we know that we would all be huddle under umbrellas for the portrait shooting. But the rain never came. It was one of those days that was beautifully overcast with the perfect soft lighting that photographers love. It means everything is evenly lit and you literally can shoot anywhere! And shoot anywhere we did!! We shot in the pine trees right outside out cabin and then we drove to a second location with mountain views, yellow aspen trees, and the prettiest sagebrush look. It was seriously unreal.
And one final reason that made me love this shoot- Taylor and Adam. Taylor and Adam are one of our couples from earlier this year and truly, I don’t know if we have any better cheerleaders than them. They truly are so willing to help us out and are always cheering us on in everything that we do. When I asked if they would be willing to let 7 photographers take their pictures in Island Park, dressed back up as a bride and groom, there was no hesitation, no question. These two were going to be there and even helped us transport some things to and from Island Park. While we were photographing them, my favorite moments were the ones that the true Adam and Taylor came out. The laughter, the smiles, the romance, that is true to them. Truly, these two are so amazing!!!! And I cannot thank them enough!!
Here’s my challenge for you on this post- can you pick out which ones are my favorites? What images do you love from this shoot?!
