When Olivia first contacted me about her March wedding in Arizona, a big smile stretched across my face because March in Arizona is so pretty and warm!! Olivia is also a photographer, and that meant two things to me. First, it’s such an honor to be asked by another photographer to take their photos- like huge honor! Second, she was able to pick out some locations that she loved and that was so helpful! She sent me so many options as we planned for their session, but the Arboretum was what we ultimately ended up going with. It had so much going for it and I was in love!! It gave us the cactus, a dried up river bed, pretty trees, and a group of kids that yelled “Kiss her,” while we were out shooting. It was so funny! We all couldn’t help but laugh before Jose and Olivia actually kissed! The funny coincidence that ended up happening with these two is that when I was booking my flight, Logan told me to stay a few extra days because what if it rains on the day of their pictures and that’s the only day you have for pictures.. well I would like to blame him for the rain that happened 45 minutes into their engagement session, but like he suggested, I had given myself extra time there and we were able to schedule a sunrise session on another day. That meant we had more time together and they got to do a whole new look with that Arizona sunshine actually making an appearance!
Enough about all of that, I need to tell you more about these two and their relationship. When their first “date” happened, it all came about by chance. Olivia’s date had canceled on her and that meant she had an extra ticket to the Christmas concert, but no date. She and Jose were friends, nothing more, but she knew that she wouldn’t feel awkward asking him! As the concert ended, Jose suggested they get some hot chocolate and there they talked for hours. (Logan and I did the same thing but over ice cream! :)) After that, they started finding more time to spend with each other and just one month later, they were officially dating! Good things that date she had planned on canceled, because that is one first date that she and Jose will always remember! One of my favorite things about my time with these two was the way they were excited and wanted to talk about marriage. They didn’t want to simply talk wedding plans, they are thinking about and preparing for their marriage and that makes my heart so incredibly happy!!! Marriage is where it is at!! 🙂
Enjoy my favorites from their session!
You captured their love BEAUTIFULLY!
Thank you so much Claudia!
