The weather wasn’t promising as we headed into Danielle and Kagan’s wedding weekend in Texas. It has been raining for most of the week and the week before. Between the forecast was calling for storms and the sprinkles on our windshield as we drove to Marquardt Ranch, we were positive we would find the ceremony site indoors. But as we pulled in, the chairs were still outside and things were all being set up as planned. Danielle and Kagan must have had a lot of faith that day about the weather because as their ceremony started, the clouds broke and the sun came down shining!
Before the ceremony, we spent time with the bride and her beautiful bridesmaids getting ready and shooting the bridal details. Danielle had some of the sweetest details to add to her wedding day like the her something blue was from her dad’s shirt and was sewn onto the under layer of her dress and the lace wrapped around her bouquet was from her mother’s wedding dress! Everything was coming together perfectly.
Instead of sharing a first look together prior to their ceremony, Danielle and Kagan wanted to have a moment together, to simply hold each other’s hand without seeing one another. The moment was tender and Kagan carefully slipped a letter to her to be read before coming down the aisle. As much as we love first looks, the moment of Kagan seeing Danielle for the first time walking down the aisle was so good. His reaction to her beauty and the realization that she was going to be his wife made for the perfect moment. As the ceremony ended and we got to their romantic portrait time, I was reminded of the reason that small things make the most tender moments. It was in the way these two looked to one another for strength and love that made my heart melt. I’m so happy for these two and grateful to have been a part of their wedding day!
