THE JOURNAL

Making More Time in the Day

I have been a slacker on the blog and truthfully there is no excuse for that because I have so many things to blog and lots of pretty pictures waiting to make their way onto here, but I have had to take a few steps back because I needed to spend A LOT of time on the rebrand. And it’s coming… very soon!!! One thing the rebrand has really taught me is that there seems to not be enough time in the day to accomplish everything I want or need to. I was to a point where I felt like I was spending every waking moment of my life doing something for the business and I wasn’t having any me time at all. Don’t we all feel that way? We all are working to be a better mom, a better student, a better photographer, etc.

Thankfully, I have an amazing mentor and friend, Abbey Kyhl, who I’m doing a business class through and one of the steps in her class, has given me more time back in my life.

The time that this step has given me back has been spent reading, cooking new things, exercising, cleaning, and creating my first solo styled shoot! All of these things were things that I was feeling like I couldn’t do because there was no time for them. Want to know the secret? Promise, you will try it?

After doing this for about two months, I KNOW it works. This challenge has given me an opportunity to be more present and to feel more confident in myself. I can give you my guarantee that if you really, really take this to heart and try it, you will have more time. I’m also pretty sure that most everyone will be set up to take this challenge to get more time back. That is more time to spend with your babes, time for adventures with your spouse, time for yourself, or whatever you need and want more time for.

So here it is…
TAKE FACEBOOK OFF YOUR PHONE!!!
That is in all seriousness, what I am challenging you to do. Take it off your phone for one week. Stop wasting your time scrolling through a newsfeed that you looked at 10 minutes ago. Stop looking at what everyone else is doing with their life and go live yours! Yes, I’m standing on a soapbox about this. But I know that when I looking at Facebook more often, I was comparing myself way more often to others. I was feeling down on myself and my photography. After taking it off, I have given myself more time to be me!!
When I first took it off, I found myself picking up my phone to look at it because I didn’t have anything to do, only to set it back down and tell myself to go do something. Now, I fill up my time with other things that are productive. I’m reaching forward to my goals and accomplishing more by doing that one thing.
Will you do it? Will you take Facebook off of your phone for one week? Trust me, Facebook can wait. Those posts aren’t going anywhere! But where is your life and relationships going while you are constantly on Facebook? Trust me and do it!! Let me know how it works for you 🙂
