On February 23, 2013, Logan and I were married on a wintery, blizzardy type day. I was stressed he wouldn’t make it to the temple because the roads were horrible and all I could picture was his family sliding off the road. Thank heavens that didn’t happen and we were sealed for time and all eternity. Life has flown by and it feels like we’ve been married forever and I can’t remember life before being married, but each time we shoot a wedding, I can recall our wedding day like it was yesterday. When our couples ask us how long we’ve been married and we give them our number, we always tell them that it’s going to go so much faster than they think!!
Yesterday Logan and I spent all day reminiscing and chatting about everywhere life has taken us over the past 4 years of our marriage. We looked over our wedding album, watched our wedding video, and talked about everything we did during each year of our marriage. Year 1- we honeymooned in Hawaii, we moved into an apartment above the Craze, I had a bad day at school because of a science test (not my best subject) and Logan had me skip class to go get ice cream and drove me out to some waterfalls to explore, I taught Logan to second shoot with me, we went to Arizona to visit his grandpa’s ranch, and we figured out I had a hard time focusing while he was home and I was trying to do homework. Year 2- We went to a photography conference in Las Vegas, we shot a wedding in St. George where I locked the keys in the car, I graduated from college, we shot lots of weddings and introduced video into our business, and went back to Hawaii with friends. Year 3- We traveled like crazy (Missouri, Coeur ‘d Alene, Texas, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, New York, Washington D.C, Maryland), moved to Shelley, we got pregnant, Logan graduated, we found out we were having a baby boy, and Logan got a job in Idaho Falls. Year 4- We kicked this off yesterday in the funniest way possible and yet, we loved every minute of it. After looking over all our wedding stuff, we left to go get some Domino’s pizza! We decided to sit in the Idaho Falls temple parking lot and just eat it in the car! It was yummy and so fun to watch the snow whip around the car and remember driving in that on our wedding day. From there we went to random stores and literally just walked around dreaming and scheming about where life will take us this year. We went and ate some ice cream at our favorite place- Cold Stone- because that is where our relationship really started. Once we finished up there we walked some more around more stores!! My Fitbit said we walked over 3 miles today!! We were planning on making it over to Olive Garden tonight, but we never really got hungry again. You never want to push yourself to eat at Olive Garden if you are already full, so we headed home and played Mario Kart and ate cereal for dinner! I’m not even joking!!!!!!!! We are so romantic 🙂 haha!!! As boring and strange as that day may sound, we wouldn’t trade these memories for anything. We loved our time together, just focusing on us and it meant the world to just have the day together.
In my opinion, marriage has gotten better each year and each year I’m not sure how it will match the year before, but I know it always will. I’m so looking forward to the memories we will make this year!!
While we keep celebrating our marriage today with dinner out, here’s our anniversary session by Meghan Rose Photography from our time in Maryland this year. These pictures will always mean the world to me because they were taken one month before we got pregnant!! This was such a special moment in our lives and we will be forever grateful for the reminder of what our marriage looked like in this moment.
