You’ve seen Rye and Kelsey on our blog a few times already this year.. We took their engagements, bridals, and wedding day photos!! Logan also did an incredible job on their wedding video- see that one here. Not only did we love having them as a bride and groom, but Kelsey and I grew up together. We’ve been friends for as long as we can remember. Shortly after they were married, they even moved into the same apartments as us. They get to see our faces a lot 🙂 Some days I stop by just to say hi and end up staying for two hours… But it is those times that we have had such fun and meaningful conversations. We’ve REALLY loved having them live so close.
One of those times that we were all together, Christmas trees came up. Rye and Kelsey were planning on getting a license/tag and head up into the mountains to cut one down. I asked if we could tag along, one because I wanted to take pictures of this and two, I’ve never been out in the mountains to cut down a Christmas tree! It sounded awesome! The day came and we headed into the mountains in Rye’s truck to find the perfect tree. When we finally got to the perfect spot to park, we all hopped out and set out on a little snowy path. Kelsey and Rye stopped at a few different trees and Kelsey kept talking about the short, fat tree they saw right by the truck, but we kept going!
Honestly, this mountain area was SO beautiful. I couldn’t get over it. Everything about it was picture perfect. And then throw our friends into the mix and it really couldn’t have been a better day. We finally found “the tree” and those two started chopping. Now I’m determined that one of these years, we will hike back into the mountains and chop down our own Christmas tree! It was the perfect adventure!
so cute!! such a fun idea!!
