A week ago today, I spent my day preparing information and reviewing slides for our second beginner’s workshop. Our first workshop was in October and I was so happy being able to help others learn how to use their camera, that I decided to have another go at it. And I’m so glad I did. These two workshops have opened my eyes to the love I have for teaching. I partially accredit that to all those times I played teacher as a kid. I made fake assignments and graded those fake assignments, all while writing all over the table. I was one of those nerdy kids 🙂
It was so much fun to have Josephine and Joy in our home and teach them how to use their cameras to get great images in cameras without editing. We wanted to help them understand the basics to their cameras and what all those buttons meant. We also wanted them to understand what kind of equipment would make good purchases as they continue to move forward with their photography. These two both came in not knowing how to shoot in manual and they left with a notebook full of notes and camera settings in full manual mode!
One of my favorite moments that happened during our time with these two was seeing it all start clicking for them while we were outside shooting. They stopped asking if they were doing it right and smiles spread across their faces as they realized they knew what they were doing! And more than ever before, I got to see how far Logan has come and how much he understands it all, even though he was only there for half of it. During the time he was there, he helped answer questions, helped get lunch ready, and kept smiling at me, making me feel like a million bucks! I could not have done it without him.
If you are interested in attending a beginner’s workshop, want to learn from us, or have a photography/business question, send us a message- info@michelleandlogan.com and we’d be happy to help!!
