Meeting up with Caleb and Savannah in the mountains for their winter engagement session was so much fun! When we pulled into the location, it seemed crowded because everyone was out enjoying the beautiful warm winter day. If you live in Idaho, you know those days can be few and far between, but we picked such a good day and even got some pretty winter sunshine coming through.
Caleb was Savannah’s first date when she started college and really, that was that! They hit it off so quickly!! Caleb grew up in Shelley, Idaho, just like me! Shelley has a day every September called Spud Day. It’s a “big deal” complete with a parade down main street and a little mini fair at City Park. It even has a tug of war over a pit of mashed potatoes, yes, I am being 100% serious. Basically the whole town comes to every year and shortly after these two went on their first date, Caleb took Savannah to Spud Day. Now, this is a BIG deal. He must have really liked her because he was going to be showing her off to the whole town of Shelley.
These two just continued to hit it off and they’re so much fun to be around. When they’re together, they were laughing and just so supportive of each other. Before meeting Caleb, Savannah hadn’t spent much time around wrestling, but Caleb is a wrestling coach for a local school and she would spend weekends at tournaments supporting him from the stands.
We were hiking around through the snow, trying not to fall through the snow with it being so warm, but it was worth it! I think we found some really pretty spots and the prettiest winter light that we could find!!
