Pulling up to the Tremaine Ranch and seeing the beautiful table setting, nestled into a corner of the property, my heart was swooning. The coloring, the florals, the details, the Arizona landscape and that perfect overcast lighting was going to make for a perfect styled wedding to kick off my time at United. When a schedule went out for the styled shoots that would be available to sign up for during United, I knew I had to get to the shoot put on by Karie and Field Denny. These two are the faces behind Ace & Whim, where they shoot in ALL film. They are incredible at capturing real emotions with a fine art feel. When the day came to sign up for shoots, I was lucky enough to get one before they sold out in 1 minute! Field and Karie are on our list- we will have them take our anniversary pictures, because they truly are incredible!!
We started at the table setting while Katie and Michael were getting finishing touches done. At the table Karie talked us through her approach to shooting a table and the way she makes sure to get all the important details by slightly moving things and creating the visual look she is going for. As we all worked our way around the table, the angles and ideas she shared really started some new ideas for me. As Katie and Michael walked out and exchanged those glances full of love. Katie loved Michael for stepping out of his comfort zone and doing this with her. And Michael loved Katie for being his wife, always beautiful and full of warmth. Their love was contagious and really set the tone for the images captured. It was a love that didn’t need to be spoken. It was shining through in their eyes as they looked to one another. A love that was made obvious by the way they held onto each other. A love that was real.
Karie recognizes those things and finds ways to shoot the small details and moments that really embrace and capture that love in a still moment. After she shared a few things again, she let us do our thing and it all turned out incredible! What a way to start off an amazing conference. And Field and Karie are on our list. We will have them take our anniversary pictures, because they truly are incredible!!
