Fowler Family Halloween Party 2015

Our Halloween really started a week ago today at the annual Fowler Family Halloween Party!! This is the third year of it and honestly it has gotten better every year. We had to leave our house at 5:30 to make it to the party and at 2:00 that day, I didn’t know what our costumes were going to be. We had made a list of ideas the night before and then on Monday, I looked at all the supplies we would need to pull them together. I took off for Walmart and the DI to scavenge for pieces to pull our looks together. I looked for things for 3 different outfits before deciding that Emperor’s New Groove was going to be the fastest one to pull together in time! Here’s how we put ours together-

Pacha: Green shirt, 2 pieces of felt, ribbon. We got the green shirt at Walmart and cut the arms off halfway up and cut up the sides for a poncho look. Then we hot glued a ribbon on the neck for the detailing. The bottom half is a brown fleece blanket at our house that we tied around his waist! The hat was made from 2 pieces of those felt squares at Walmart and hot glued together!

Kuzco: Red dress from the DI, gold ribbon, yellow card-stock and 4 yellow felt squares. With the red dress, I cut up the sleeves just a little big to give them a flowy look. I hot glued the ribbon onto the bottom, waist and sleeves of the dress. I used 1 piece of the felt to make the neck area and hot glued that on. I cut 4 strips from 1 piece of felt and made them fringe for the ankle part. The hat was tricky. And honestly, didn’t work very well. It’s made from felt with ribbon glued onto it for details and held on by yellow card-stock.

Each year the costumes are always so good and I love the way each family does their own thing! The games were Pinterest perfect and I think we’ll be bringing some of those back again next year! Can’t wait for the next one!

For the actual day of Halloween, we didn’t make any plans. We stayed in bed and snuggled up watching The Flash. Logan studied for and took a midterm, we live the exciting life. And then we headed down to The Theater of Lost Souls with some friends! This is the first Halloween day that we have ever spent together. Logan always has worked on Halloween and this year we finally got to be together!! Even though it didn’t consist of much, it was my favorite Halloween to date just being with him!
