Ammon and McKell Idaho Falls LDS Winter Wedding

Idaho Falls LDS Winter Wedding | Ammon & McKell

This Idaho Falls LDS winter wedding with Ammon and McKell might have made us freeze our toes off, but it was 100% worth it! This was actually the third wedding I have shot for this family, and I absolutely loved getting to see them all again. McKell is Gracie’s sister (remember her amazing indoor studio bridals?!)

Winter Wedding at the LDS Idaho Falls Temple

Despite the cold, everyone came together to celebrate the most beautiful couple. One of my favorite moments to witness was McKelle’s grandma, and how she kept trying to give her own coat, jacket, and anything warm to all her grandkids as they stood outside the temple. One of McKelle’s sisters even said, “I’m sacrificing my feet for you!” Her feet were so cold on this winter day! One good thing about winter weddings in Idaho Falls, though, is all that snow makes for the best light reflector! I always love how clean and crisp my couples’ photos turn out when we photograph in the snow! Not to mention, the light snow falling made for a whimsical, magical touch!

Luncheon at the Atrium

After their sealing ceremony at the temple, everyone gathered for a luncheon at the Atrium. This was such a fun time before the rest of the guests arrived for these two to have fun with their closest friends and family! They shared toasts, played the shoe game, and even were serenaded and enjoyed musical performances from McKelle’s mom, aunts, grandma, and uncle. A luncheon gives you a little more flexibility to do activities like this before the more formal reception and larger group arrives! I also loved being able to grab a few “getting ready” photos with McKelle as she touched up her hair and makeup after being out in the snow.

Wedding Reception at the Atrium in Idaho Falls

After such a cold day at the temple, the hot cocoa bar at the reception was exactly what everyone needed! It was the perfect touch to celebrate their winter wedding and warm all their guests up! I loved seeing how their dusty blue and mauve pinks played out in their reception decor. It’s always fun seeing how things come together after they’ve been dreaming up ideas for months! They ended their winter wedding day with dancing and, of course, the decorated get away car!
