St. Louis Personal Recap

If you haven’t been to the blog, our Facebook, Instagram, or Snapchat in the last week, you may not know we went to St. Louis for a wedding!! Trust me, go check out Adam and Taylor’s wedding if you haven’t yet. I’ll wait right here while you scroll through their beautiful wedding!! This trip was so much fun not only because of the wedding, but because we learned so much about ourselves and we had time to spend together after our move and before Logan starts school again on Monday! Even though it rained and was pretty chilly the entire time we were there (other than the wedding day) we had so much fun.

That first day, we realized some key things for wherever we end up moving to when Logan finishes school and some other random facts-

  • We need to live closer to a legit airport, because the Idaho Falls and Pocatello airports do not count and Salt Lake is a little too far some days. We pulled an all nighter to get to the airport and catch our early morning flight. That did us in. We would like to live within 45 ish minutes to a nice airport that Southwest flys out of because we LOVE Southwest!!
  • We will be able to find something we love and can enjoy anywhere we go. The park that we randomly found had a huge lake, walking path, fields to play in, and little kids playing soccer. It seemed to show us that no matter where we live, there will always be fun things to go do if we seek them out. Also, the zoo there is amazing!! Even though we made it the zoo close to when they were closing, we saw some great animals and were so excited that it was FREE!!
  • Don’t be so OCD about taking headphone splitters out of it’s packaging before you get on the airplane to avoid the trash on the plane.. you will lose the splitters before getting on the flight
  • It’s worth it to pay a little extra to stay at a nice hotel. Our hotel was nice, but it could have been a little better, especially when we have people running around and yelling at 1 in the morning… I would have appreciated a little nicer of a hotel. Totally my bad for booking that one.
  • Sometimes you eat at the same place a couple days in a row because you love it so much. We found 2 restaurants that we really loved- Steak ‘n Shake and Fortel’s Pizza Den. MMMMMM!! So good!
  • It’s good to try new things and push yourself to do things you wouldn’t normally do
  • Google maps does get things wrong sometimes… and maybe I do too…
  • Drinking my white hot chocolate from Starbucks makes me feel like I fit in walking the streets of downtown.
  • Walking around Target is a good way to kill time while you wait to go to the airport
  • And I’m really lucky… Logan is the best. End of story

We really enjoyed this time to really just be together. We spent a lot more time at our hotel than we originally planned due to the weather, but we had so much fun renting a RedBox, working, and talking while we were there. And as terrible as it is.. I hardly took any “real” pictures outside the wedding and I only have 1 on my phone from this trip! Plus, the arch was under construction. Enjoy out random little thoughts and this awesome picture of Logan 🙂
